Activities: Essay
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
I looked into both single and multi-camera techniques and had to write descriptions, advantages and disadvantages about each of them and different productions they may be used in. I then wrote an essay discussing them both and analysing the similarities and differences of the two methods.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
I encountered no problems when researching the techniques or when writing my essay and successfully understood the two methods and how they are used in the industry.

Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
For this task I researched different types of moving image format and gave a brief description of each along with advantages and disadvantages to each type. I then presented this as a PowerPoint.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
From this task I gained understanding of each of the moving image formats which I looked at and did not encounter any problems while carrying out the task.

Time (from – to): 1-4.30pm
Activities: Creating a video to show camera movements
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
We had to create a video to demonstrate different camera movements, we did this by choosing a subject and carried out different techniques. We showed zoom in and out, panning, tilt, and track in and out.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
We worked as a team on this task and struggled to find a subject and so we used a member of staff. We worked well as a team as we each had a specific role, for example one person filmed while another instructed the subject on what to do. The other two members edited the video to fit with descriptions of the camera movements. From this task we learnt how to use video cameras and how to create different camera movements.

Location: College
|
Time (from – to): 1-4.30pm
Activities: Making a mind map
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
Once we had decided on a song to make a video for we created a mindmap to generate ideas for what people, props, locations and shots we could use in our video.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
Because not all our group was present we found it difficult to decide on a song, however once we had decided on the song Kung Fu Fighting we all gave individual ideas to go on the mindmap. From this we learnt how to create an in depth mindmap as part of a team.

Date: 15.11.13
Location: College
|
Time (from – to): 1-4.30pm
Activities: Music Video Pitch
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
I was not able to make the session in which we made the music video pitch due to a university open day, however my group made a presentation featuring ideas for props, actors, locations and types of shots we would use. During the presentation Gemma mentioned the inspiration for the ideas and types of clips we would be using.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
Because not all the group were in the session some members found it difficult to put together a pitch with ideas from everyone; however they worked through these issues and created a clear and precise pitch.

Location: College

Time (from – to):
Activities: Pre-Production Documentation
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
I completed various risk assessments for filming in the studio and out on location, the team also put together permission forms for any children if we had gained access to film in the dojo. We also created a storyboard with detailed information on what each shot would feature.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
The only problem was that not all members of the group were in each session, and we also created documents which were not necessary as we could not film in the dojo.

Location: Millennium Bridge and College
|
Time (from – to): 1-4.30pm
Activities: Filming
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
When filming in the studio I was in control of the video camera, I had to film the first and last scenes for the video using different camera techniques such as zoom in and out. I was unavailable for the session where the group filmed on location due to hospital appointments, however the group informed me of the filming they did using actors from the college and using a video camera and a camera phone.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
When the group filmed the location scene on the millennium bridge they encountered some problems as they did not realise until at the location that the battery was not in the camera, they overcame this issue by using a camera phone.

Activities: Editing
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
Gemma took main responsibility in the editing of the video, she was helped by our tutor so edit the start of the film so she knew how to mark in and out, to stop and start the clips of the video which were set to the music.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
Not everyone was able to input into the editing process as it was all done on one computer and so the rest of the group just had to give their opinions on the editing that was done.

Time (from – to): 1-4.30pm
Activities: Final Editing
|
Personal Roles & Responsibilities Undertaken:
Again Gemma took main responsibility in the final editing of the extra clips and made sure everything was in time to the music. I then imported the video to my blog and added an evaluation.
Brief Description of Experiences: (including problems encountered, teamwork, & what had been learned)
I did not experience any issues during this process, however if I had been able to make it to more sessions I would have gained more experience in editing videos and would not have had to rely on the support of the team as much.
